Sad Passing of Former Student Abbey Trinca
Sad News - Former MSA student-athlete, Abbey Trinca (21 years) passed away this week in Daytona Beach Florida USA
With great sadness Maribyrnong College and Sports Academy communities announce the sudden death of Abbey Trinca, a former student-athlete and a role-model in our college.
In 2012 and 2013 Abbey completed VCE in Years 11 & 12 at Maribyrnong College as a Golf athlete in the Sports Academy.   In her two years at MSA, Abbey was always a hard-working academic student who enjoyed her new friendships here at Maribyrnong.   In 2013 Abbey was honoured with the School Sport Victoria “Sporting Blue” award for Girls Golf.
After she graduated with VCE in December 2013, Abbey took up a sports scholarship at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University [ERAU] in Daytona Beach, Florida USA , commencing in January 2014.
As a US College student-athlete Abbey was studying for 4 years towards a Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Psychology, while competing in Women’s Golf at ERAU.
Abbey’s parents have travelled to Florida to complete all the sad processes and bring Abbey home to Melbourne, an expensive and extremely sad task.  The family has launched a gofundme page to assist with this important expense.

Finally, here is the tribute to Abbey that was posted on the ERAU website:
