The Western Bulldogs are one of the ten Victorian football clubs playing in the national Australian Football League (AFL).
With a strong supporter base throughout the western region of Melbourne, the club is based at the Whitten Oval in Footscray. The commitment to connect the local community and their presence as the peak sporting body of the western suburbs, identified the club as a logical stakeholder in establishing a sports school in Melbourne’s western region. A recent $30M redevelopment at the Whitten Oval has seen the creation of an elite training environment and administrative and community hub which further adds to the infrastructure of the precinct to serve elite sport, research, active living and community goals.
