Program Overview

The Golf Program is a select entry program, delivering opportunities for talented golfers  to balance both their sporting and academic pursuits in an "athlete friendly" environment. In addition to a Year’s 7-12 academic program students are involved in a Technical Golf Program and High Performance Preparation Program.

High Performance Coaching

2 technical sessions per week conducted at Medway Gold Club

The MSA golf program offers students the access to the latest technology in golf.

  • Trackman (radar tracking of the clubhead and ball)

  • 3D biomechanics analyses

  • Sam Putting Lab (putting stroke analysis)

  • ShotsToHole (game/stats tracking, practice tracking and goal setting)

  • Aimpoint (green reading)

  • K-Vest (body tracking and measurement from the swing)

  • Skillest (video analysis and video note taking)

  • Mirror Vision (live to screen skills acquisition)

Student Information:

MSA golf program has a drop box file for each student.  Reporting, testing and technical information is placed in drop box allowing home coaches, state and National coaches’ access to view and include data or lesson overviews. MSA aim is to provide excellent structured training and provide students coaches the cutting edge information to help develop athlete.

Fees:

All MSA golf student athletes are charged a additional fee to cover a yearly membership to Medway Golf Course.

Richard Cooney – Assistant Coach

  • Australian PGA Member for over 30 years

  • Former Victorian State Coach for 20 years

  • Current Golf Tasmania High Performance State Coach

Grace Lennon – Assistant Coach

  • Tour Professional playing on the Australian, Asian, European and USA Tours

  • In 2013 as an amateur was ranked 17 in the world.

  • The Athena Champion 2023 (Australian Tour)

Jack McKenzie – Graduate Coach

  • Jack is a former MSA student, graduating in 2020

  • Currently Jack is undertaking his PGA Traineeship at Medway Golf Club where he is also the club’s junior development coach.

 George Carasavidis – Graduate Coach

  • George is a former MSA student, graduating in 2021
