The Athlete Services Team recently ran the first Virtual Parent/Carer Information Evening. This evening featured Natalie Kyan (Performance Psychologist) presenting on “Supporting student-athletes during the pandemic” and Ola Luczak (Sports Dietitian) presenting on “Supporting mood with food”.

6 MSA Alumni play in Weekend Football Matches

Six former Maribyrnong Sports Academy students graced the turf of professional fields last weekend in two sports across three states.

 Six former Maribyrnong Sports Academy students graced the turf of professional fields last weekend in two sports across three states.

 

New South Wales was the host to 3 of our Alumni with the A-League game between Melbourne Victory and Western United.  2017 MSA graduate Seb Pasquali played as an attacking midfielder for Western United who defeated the Melbourne Victory 2-1 at Parramatta’s Bankwest Stadium.  Debuting for the Melbourne Victory was 2018 MSA graduate Aaron Anderson who started the game with 2016 graduate Birkan Kirdar.

 

Queensland played host to 2 MSA Alumni with Touk Miller lining up for the Gold Coast in their 5 point loss to the Bulldogs at Metricon Stadium.  Touk finished the night with 26 disposals while Cameron Rayner played in another Metricon thriller for the Brisbane Lions in their 4 point victory over Melbourne.  Cam had 14 disposals and kicked a goal for the Lions.

 

Port Adelaide’s and 2018 MSA graduate Zak Butters lined up for the Power in their 29 point loss to the Saints on Saturday night.  Zak finished the night with 7 disposals, in a quite night for the wingman.

Reba Stewart and Dylan Brooks awarded top school sport award

Former student Reba Stewart and year 7 Ice Hockey/Baseball student Dylan Brooks have both won the prestigious Victorian School Sports Award for Outstanding Sporting Achievement for 2019.

Former Maribyrnong Sports Academy student and 2019 Sports director award winner Reba Stewart has been awarded the highest award in the Victorian State School system for sport.

Reba and Year 7 Ice Hockey/Baseball student athlete Dylan Brooks both won the prestigious Victorian School Sports Award for Outstanding Sporting Achievement for 2019.
