Wellbeing and Support
MSA has a culture of high expectations, high challenges, and high support. There are many layers of support for student athletes including Maribyrnong College sub-schools and wellbeing, HPP teachers, HPC coaches and athlete wellbeing. We encourage student athletes and their families to reach out early if needed.
Performance behaviours are key to success in both school and sport. We expect MSA student athletes to be wearing the correct uniform, to leave their phones in lockers, be on time, maximise their time in classrooms, be respectful, be organised and communicate proactively. MSA has an athlete review process that focuses on effort, behaviour and keeping up to date with schoolwork.
Staff can support in areas of performance behaviours, performance nerves and routines, coping with injury, challenge and transitions. At MSA, student athletes build a toolkit of skills and strategies to support their sporting journey.
