The Far North Queensland city of Townsville provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing four days of Competition for past Maribyrnong College School Captain and former MSA Athlete Jamieson Battistella to achieve her greatest result. Jamieson won a silver medal in the U20 women’s high jump and a gold medal in the U20 women’s heptathlon, to follow on from her Gold Medal in the U20 Australian High Jump Championship just a couple of months before.

“I made so many new friends, competed with some of the most amazing girls and learnt so much from this competition being able to develop so much more belief in myself mentally and physically overcoming many challenges.” Jamieson said before paying thanks to the many people who helped her get over the line. “None of this would’ve ever been possible without my friends or my amazing family who not only came up to watch me but have supported me throughout my whole journey, my dad for not only his support but for being an amazing coach and always helping to push me towards my best and Darren Clark for the time and effort he gives to coaching me. Another huge thanks needs to go to my sponsors Symmetry Physiotherapy , the Sanctuary Lakes Foundation and Smash FM for all of their support along with everyone else who has helped me to achieve what I have.”
